The big day

I wrote about this on a earlier post, but I think I deleted by mistake =(. but here it is.

My daughter was born January of 2010. The day she was born I had only 5 minutes of sleep. The gamers curse, I was up all night playing CODMW2. 4 AM rolled along and I decided that it was a good time for bed. I closed my eyes and soon as I felt the sandman’s touch I was woken up by my wife telling me to get dressed. I responded by asking her why. It did not take long before it clicked and I shot to my feet.
Two hours later I was a father, I was glad it only took three hours I have heard horror stories about labor lasting 6 – 10 hours. I watched the whole birth and when she came out I almost feinted, now all those dad feinting scenes in movies were no longer funny to me.

10 Min Old
The hospital we were staying at forced us to do an overnight to make sure my wife wouldn’t go all crazy and try to kill the baby.  It turned into 2 days because her OBGYN had to clear her to go home and he had to go deliver another baby. Two hours after birth we were moved to a room where we could rest. A nurse came in and bathed the baby in the sink that was in the room. I asked if we had to give the baby a bath in the sink every time because the sink at our house was pretty small. They both gave me a weird look, and I knew I was wrong.  The nurse also went over how to breast feed our child and how it was natural for both of them to fall asleep during this process.  When they both passed out I was playing my DS and took the time to entertain myself by poking their heads with the stylist.
Because of Swine Flu only people cleared with a
"VIP" paper bracelet were allowed in. Yay I'm a VIP

Great to see it posted (again?) as a new reader. Cute pictures! As a girl it's always interesting to see what you guys think about suddenly becoming parents. Since it's a while since she was born I'm guessing that it is all going very good!

Congratulations, and good work for going through all that! I know the blessing of having a DS while waiting in a hospital.
