Finally home!

Internet is back finally! I want to thank everyone for their comments thus far. I actually do read all comments and was inspired by  's comment about the real life achievement. So here it is!

The overnight turned into a two night stay as I mentioned earlier. The wait felt like the load times while playing Zelda on the CDI. The bright side is that because my wife’s birthday is the day after my daughter’s the hospital sent two complimentary cakes to our room. I welcomed this because their obligation was to keep my wife and baby fed not me.

Once we got home my two best friends were sitting on our porch waiting for us. Apparently they had been there 5 hours waiting and drinking. It made unloading everything so much easier, I had spent two days sleeping/sitting in the guest chair. Iris (my baby) had been sleeping most of her time and I thought that it was going to be smooth sailing. We cracked open a bottle of wine that I had received from the Vice President of ASUS and put on The Hangover in the DVD player. My friends Ghost-Cell and Natural Furcoat offered to spend the night and help with some chores in the morning, as if they knew the shit storm that was coming.

2AM rolled along and Iris started crying and crying and would not stop. Tired and cranky my wife and I were getting agitated. We were up all night/morning trying to sooth her back to sleep. Like the N64 version of Superman we failed. Around 8AM my mother came to visit and took over as both of us exhausted ended up passing out in front of our bedroom door. When we awoke it as 1PM and to our shock my friends had cleaned the kitchen, done our laundry, and mowed our yard. I was thankful because I didn’t think I had it in me to complete the chores. That night my mother made us all Miyeok Guk a Korean seaweed soup said to be healthy for a family after having a baby.
Miyeok Guk

Iris did not want to go to sleep, the second night was looking to be a repeat of the night before. Shy short of wanting to blow my head off I did the only thing I knew would make me feel better, I played video games. I put Iris in my lap all swaddled up and turned on CODMW2. After 5 minutes she was passed out.  I had found the key to making my baby sleep.

To be continued.

I remember my baby sister. I took care of her at night more than my parents. I think after three other children (including me) they deserved a rest.

It didn't agitate me as much but then again I was staying up with the intention of taking care of her.

Very nice and congratulations! If playing CODMW2 is what helps Iris get some shuddeye, then I guess you'll just have to make that sacrifice. :D

@ Michael

We were mostly agitated due the lack of good sleep in nearly 3 days. After we got some sleep we were back to our clark kent mild manner behavior. :)
